Metal Buildings
Metal Buildings fill a niche in the building industry which may not be appropriate or feasible for a post frame building or a SIP building. For instance, buildings with extensive height requirements or very large clear span requirements, or buildings that need overhead cranes, or are used for heavy manufacturing, a steel structure is most probably the right fit for you. Pre-engineered metal buildings usually have large frames which are the basis of your building structure. If you are using your building for storage or pallet racking, you need to take into consideration working around the large frames. If you are planning to finish out the inside of your steel building, it is not as easy to do as a wood frame structure.
Metal buildings can also be used for Barndominiums, man caves, and she sheds, but are much more difficult to finish the inside and meet the required energy codes without the use of additional framing and insulation on the inside of the structure or using insulated metal panels. In general, a steel structure is most often a better fit for use in the large warehousing industry as well as large airplane hangars, heavy manufacturing, large dealerships, and large office and medical buildings.
